I remember, as a young child, going to the "Corner House" for a special dinner with my family. It was a fancy restaurant with beautifully set tables, many forks and a large silky napkin. We would sit in posh cushy chairs and sip on water with lemon. The waiter would tell of the specials and my grandfather would ask, "what is the soup du jour?" I never knew what "soup du jour" meant, I just thought it was grandpa's soup.
My Grandfather was an influential person in my life. When the waiter would ask what would I like, I would say "Pa's soup du jour". It was always New England Clam Chowder, the best as far as I was concerned. Little did I know, that the soup du jour was always the same on fridays, and fridays was our special family dinner. I just thought soup du jour was Clam Chowder. Soup du jour changes each day.
My grandfather always had a "du jour", little words of wisdom, carefully selected, special ingredients and specially prepared for me. He played a big part in my life and had a lot to do with my character, wisdom, integrity and spirituality.
Today my Heavenly Father gives me "du jour", words that I need, grace that I don't have to ask for, and mercy that is new each morning.Maybe some of my words can be your "du jour", inspired by God, prepared by the Holy Spirit and given by His Son Jesus....and maybe mixed with a little of Pa's du jour.
With each word written there is a prayer for you, that you would receive what you need from Him today. Ask Him what is your "du jour" for today and allow him to give it to you today with the blessings that He freely gives.

I like this -- du jour.
I've ordered it before but I didn't know what I was doing. Now I know.
I love how Jesus gives us fresh oil everyday. His mercies are new every morning.
